Skift Take: Last year, Hertz and Avis struggled to sell off their old vehicles in a soft market for used cars. They need the money to invest in new cars and their technology stacks. Now that the used car market has recovered, it will be a little easier for them to muddle forward despite intense competition from Uber and Lyft.
